Downtown Day

So, in the paper on Monday it said "Radio Disney Days at the Gallivan Center" Tuesday 10-2. I packed kids in the car and drove to the Millcreek Trax park and ride. We bought our tickets and boarded a train destined for downtown. Arrival at 12:45 pm. Everyone had packed up booths and were heading out. WHAT THE?! Here I was with three kids, no fun and no car. What was I going to do? It was also lunch time. Luckily Seigfrieds Delicatessen was waiting for us only 1/2 a block away.

My children (well NOT Morgan) adore bratwurst. Aidan was all over the rotkraut (red cabbage) and Kelsey liked the Spatezel (noodles with brown gravy) I had some of that too and sauerkraut as well.

Morgan was content to play with his toy car while we ate and I TRIED to get some food in him. Up the street to Carl's Jr. we went to get"ticken dars". Down the street and across the plaza to the Trax station. On we got and oops, we were headed east. Off we got at Library Square, waited 15 minutes for the next tram and back to Gallivan Center. Another 15 minutes and we were headed south again, whew. Back to the hot stuffy car at 3:30. Home again hot and tired. The kids had a fun time though, especially Morgan. He liked to ride the trains, he was not happy when we had to get off. Kelsey liked to ride the train standing up holding onto a grab bar. Aidan was happiest when she got to sit by the window.

But really I just should have taken the car and sucked up the $4.00 parking fee, and packed the cooler with lunch. Maybe next year.
