Road Island Diner

On Saturday, on the way home from our Relief Society Women's Retreat, my friend Tanya (pronounced tawn-ya) and I stopped by the Road Island Diner in Oakley, UT. If you click HERE it'll take you to their website where you can read the fascinating history and view their scrumptious menu (Their chili, meatloaf sandwich, and pie are really good). By the way they make their mashed potatoes with real potatoes, not flakes, and there are real lemons in their lemonade...ahhhh so GOOD)
Through this door is the outdoor patio dining.
There is even a ice cream and soda fountain.
The booths all have a juke box.
The countertops are green marble, the green glass in the windows is Tiffany Glass. It really is quite beautiful. The diner itself is a work of art and evokes a feeling of days gone by. I suggest you stop by if you are traveling in the area. Nearby is Rockport State Park with it's beautiful reservoir...maybe boating and lunch? Sounds good to me :)
