Baptism Day

Today we were privileged to attend 3 baptisms. It was our stake baptism day and 2 of those being baptized were from our ward. It was really incredible to think back on my baptism day. I remember wearing a white jump suit and coming up out of the water feeling so incredible clean and pure. I remember I wrote about it in my journal "I feel so spezial" (Hey. I was eight.) These two girls Trstin and Malia each brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my soul.
I also think on how it is now within Satan's power to tempt these two sweet souls. He never tires. He never rests from it. But we can have power over him. We can fortify ourselves from the lyings and deceits. We can put on the full armor of God. Prayer, scripture study, attending church, partaking of the sacrament, developing and nurturing a testimony of Jesus Christ, and being true to our baptismal covenants shield and protect us and give us strength.
And, we have the opportunity to have our sins forgiven when we stray from the path. I know for me most days end with me having messed something up, or saying something I shouldn't have. But I am indebted to my lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for without His atonement I would be utterly lost and fallen. I am grateful for the many times I have been forgiven.
Today was a good day. Today was a good day for a baptism. Today was spezial.

  2. Great post, Debbie. It's always good to have reminders like those. I love to not only think of my baptism day, but also of Anna's. Loved this.
