Today

My Sunday

We sat in our usual spot. Behind us a 3 year old and 9 month old. In front of us a 3 year old and 18 month old. All boys. Morgan decided he wanted to play with kids' in front of us cars and eat their snacks. Little guy from behind us wanted to hang out with Kelsey. Morgan was reverent until just after the Sacrament (thank heavens). Do you know how much noise little boys can make crashing their toy cars? Do you, do you!?

The speakers were absolutely awesome. Even through all the noise and commotion of my son I could feel the truthfulness and spirit of their message. They spoke about temples, about the feeling of being there and of the sacredness of the work performed therein. It was a welcome message, and I'm glad I was there to recieve it.

Primary was, well, bearable. The highlight was the last hour when the entire Senior Primary sat reverent and gave constructive comments during my Sharing Time presentation. A tender mercy I'm grateful for.

Dinner at the in-laws was pleasant. Morgan was so happy to play with cousin G's toys and Kelsey and cousin T were rocking away on Guitar Hero. Aidan and cousin A made splendid things from Legos and I had a nice and helpful talk with my sister E.

Driving home in the drizzly rain we passed the Bountiful Temple. It stood as a beacon on the mountain side. A literal shaft of light emminated from the temple roof. Light ethereal. Light Divine. The thousand speckled drops on my window could not dim it. It is etched on my mind, still.
