My First Blog

Happy March! We've got Saint Patrick's Day and Easter this month, not to mention 2 birthdays, how lucky!

I should be paying bills, but I'm tired of seeing how much is going out of our bank accounts. Unfortunately I didn't find any Leprechauns with their pots of gold this Saint Paddy's Day.

Aidan turned 6. We had a Chinese themed birthday party for her. In the morning her friends from school and the neighborhood came over and played games :

-try to pick up 4 cotton balls at the same time with chopsticks

-fan your cotton ball relay race

-dragon space game

they also decorated paper dragons

then we sang Happy Birthday to Aidan and had cupcakes (with Chinese numbers) and Creamies. (I don't do cake and ice cream.) Every child got to blow out their own candle.

Next Aidan opened presents. Her favorite toy? A dog who eats biscuits and "poops". Something enthralling about it I guess.

I spent 2 1/2 hours decorating the house with Chinese paper lanterns it turned our great, especially the ones hanging from the ceiling.

The kids got goodie bags to take home:

-their dragon card

-a glow stick

-Chinese character key chain

-decorate your own paper lantern

-fortune cookies

-chopsticks

-paper fans for the girls

-Chinese yo-yo's for the boys

Later in the afternoon was the family party

Lunch was

-Chinese Haystacks

-Chinese Salad

-Mandarin Orange jello salad

-Fortune cookies

-Dragon Cake

-Fruit juices

-Orange water

We ate and sang "Happy Birthday" The dragon cake was to die for. My sister made it in only 4 hours time! Presents were opened and played with. Bump-Arena is a new family favorite. We talked and reminisced. It was a great day!

Still,I can't believe 6 years have gone by since Aidan's birth. Now, on Sunday (Easter) my little baby Morgan will be two. Time is sure flying by. We'll be having a small family celebration for him. Next year he'll get a bigger party.

Well, I hope I didn't bore you to death with my first blog. I hope to keep it more interesting. I'll try to post some pictures this week. Now...back to those bills!
